Why I’m Running
I'm running for Pennsylvania's 98th House District because I believe public service should be about the people you represent — not the political party you belong to.
I've spent much of my life working alongside the people who make our communities work. My first jobs were in agriculture. I started picking strawberries at the Brenneman farm aka the ‘Corn Wagon’ in New Danville, then moved on to sweet corn and tobacco. Later, I worked in egg processing at Kreider Farms and Esbenshade Farms. Those jobs taught me early that hard work isn't something you talk about — it's something you do.
I carried those lessons into my professional career in manufacturing and operations at RR Donnelley, where I've had to work with people, manage competing priorities, solve problems, control costs, and be accountable for results. I've also had the privilege of serving my community in local government. That experience has given me a close-up view of how government decisions affect taxpayers, businesses, municipalities, and families. I've seen what happens when government works well, and I've seen how frustrating it can be when politics gets in the way of common sense.
Most people I know don't live their lives according to a party platform. They work, raise families, run businesses and farms, volunteer in their communities, pay their taxes, and expect their government to do its job. They deserve a representative who approaches government the same way.
If I'm elected, I won't go to Harrisburg owing my vote to a party. I'll work with Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and anyone else who is willing to put good ideas ahead of political games. I'll ask some basic questions before I vote: Is it constitutional? Is it fiscally responsible? Does it solve a real problem? What are the unintended consequences? And most importantly, is it good for the people of the 98th District?
I want to protect the agricultural economy and farmland that are so important to our community and Lancaster County. I want responsible growth that doesn't overwhelm our communities and infrastructure. I want Pennsylvania to be a place where manufacturing, small businesses, farms, and working families can succeed. I want strong local communities, good infrastructure, effective public safety, responsible conservation, and a state government that remembers every dollar it spends first came from a taxpayer.
I'm not running because I want to make a career out of politics. I grew up in a family of veterans and saw the positive impact that their service made on our nation. I’m ready to serve in my own way. I'm running because I believe experience matters, independence matters, and representation should still mean listening to the people who sent you there. We don't have to agree on every issue. I don't expect that we will. But you will always know where I stand, why I voted the way I did, and who I work for.
I work for you — the people of Pennsylvania's 98th House District.
That's why I'm running.
